Hocus-Pocus Swap Meet

I went to the swap meet yesterday and all told I am very happy with the experience and I think Mr. Gross and the Hocus-Pocus staff did a fine job.

Next year promises to be even better.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend any of the lectures because of the venue (Lecture hall was too small, overheated and crowded with folks without wristbands) and left before Shoot and Mark Wilson's lectures were presented, that is a decision I will regret for months - Just couldn't hang around any longer.

Thank you very much for the registration gift, it was very gracious of you and I was delighted with it when I opened it at home!

Suggestions for next year:

1. A larger venue, I think Hocus-Pocus was surprised at the large turnout.

2. A place to sit and B.S./session, after several trips around the vendors there wasn't really a good place to just visit without clogging the thoroughfares. (Outside didn't count because of the coolnes of the weather and the breeze that was just strong enough to grab playing cards)

3. If you offer lunch, please don't have the plates made up and sitting in the shade/wind/cold weather 10-15 minutes before you serve them (That's silly request but.....my hot dog had no hint of warmth in it and the bun was ice cold).

4. Maybe name tags? At least for the Hocus-Pocus staff.

5. Maybe offer a discount for pre-registration to more accurately get a count for the lectures.

As stated, I can't wait for next year's event , as great as this year's was, next year should grow exponentially.

I'm glad I made the trip down there (from Ceres) -- Hocus-Pocus is the kind of establishment that many others can only hope to acheive in our little world.

Re: Hocus-Pocus Swap Meet

They did end up turning on the air condistioning for the later lectures and there were a few empty seats left in the room. There were a few too many chairs in the room. . . but oh man the leatures were GREAT!
