Re: Win Cody Fisher's "Bet Your Bucks!"

Looks like I am the first to enter my reasons for why I should win Cody Fisher's "Bet Your Bucks" bill to lemon trick. It is kind of sad that everyone else gets to see my reasons and play off them. Just remember, dear Mike, as you judge these - I started the "threads" to spin this web of "give me the prize" "pick me – pick me" "BS" in the first place, and judge kindly - OK emoticon - OK then . . .

MY TOP TEN REASONS:

#10 – I have always loved the bill in lemon, but I have not done it in decades since my methods never overcame all of the obstacles Cody seems to have ACED!

#9 – I love the “Game Show” format. I am always doing game show themes in other parts of my presentations. These are not always magic related. Sometimes, in my case, there really are game shows incorporated into the program features aside from the magic. Therefore, those who know me as “the game guy,” know that this would fit me like a glove. (Careful that is “game guy,” not “gamey,” or any other derogatory homonym or alliteration.)

[So, I use big words? Get out a dictionary, or just fake it emoticon , either way, have fun.]

#8 – My wife would “kill” me if I spent this kind of dough on a single effect that I can already do by another method, even though I don’t, however great and confidence building the improvements actually are on this fantastic new version.

#7 – I like the smell of fresh cut lemons; how they freshen up an act. This is the perfect excuse to treat the audience to that lemony fresh sent without their suspecting that I am trying to cover up for something else. (No, I did not just say my acts usually stink. Shame on you for thinking that.)

#6 – There is really no good reason to give the prize to me over anyone else, we are all just greedy little “beggars” who crave free stuff, but oooh – ooooh, pick me anyway, just cut the “cards” and pick me! Then we can be BFF and all that.

#5 – Your show is not, and has never been, a lemon. Your good taste in having Cody Fisher on as a guest, with his lemon, and other good advice, proves that.

#4 – I will make lemonade for you out of all the lemons I use in the act from now on. Will that “sweeten” my chances of winning or only turn them sour, even if I use lots of sugar or honey? Scratch and sniff this one. Forget I just offered you a bribe. It’s just that I am running out of reasons, even the fake ones, before running out of numbers.

#3 – I deserve it. I am a good customer of Hocus-Pocus (Check the records.) Winning simply is another benefit of both customer – on-line member and listener to the Mike on the Mike Show, loyalty. [I do rarely miss a single one. By the way, shouldn’t that be “Mike on the Mic” (short for microphone)? Never mind. It’s your show. Spell it anyway you like.]

#2 – All the kids at my church and the camps, fairs, schools, youth clubs, and VBSs would eat this up.

Finally, reason numero uno! (Saved “the best” for last.)

#1 – When I get the trick and really like it, as I am sure I will, and use it, as I am sure I will, then I will review it on one of my shows and give it a two thumbs up review, as I am sure it deserves. Then you will get the benefits of an additional promotion of both the effect and of Hocus-Pocus as the only exclusive place where this product can be purchased. Good move H-P! [See, Mike, I am a great choice as the winner. No, not wiener nor whiner – OK maybe both of those too, but not if you make me a (the) winner. (Smile, these aren’t that funny, but it’s good for your face. Oh, you’ll use it. You know you will.)]

AND don’t forget all the great reasons above that you especially liked (just forget any you did not like or find funny) and make me the winner because you really like me and all of my answers that you now can remember.

If that does not work – “You are getting sleepy – very sleepy – at the count of three you will wake up refreshed and with the irresistible urge to scrap all other entries and proclaim Magi-Ken Morrison the undisputed winner. And, you will feel refreshed and very good about yourself and your free choice. 1 – 2 – 3. Now that was easy and you feel so wonderful!”

Reply now to [email protected] with the good news of sweet victory.

Wow those reasons are a tough act to follow....

And whenever I have to follow a tough act I like to have a great effect such as ....
"Bet Your Bucks"

Besides I have a lot of Codys cheaper stuff (all great stuff and not cheap in that sense...just inexpensive) which I would have to sell in order to buy this new and expensive item and then my show would be a one trick pony and who wants to see that? Nobody. So I wont get any more gigs and suddenly the mortgage is due and bam....homeless. On the streets. Will do magic for food ....but I only have one trick ...and who wants to see that again. Nobody. So I go hungry. Thus begins my downward spiral if I am not the lucky winner of this great giveaway. But I know that judges have no conscience so what are my chances? So far 50/50.

With crossed fingers
Barry (not quite homeless)

Why I should Win Cody Fisher’s Bet Your Bucks

This is my submission for why I should be in contention for Cody Fisher’s Bet your bucks. When thinking about what I should write, I thought about doing a funny submission however I mostly study children’s magic and I don’t think a break away wand would play well on the forum. So this is my submission why this effect would be beneficial to me.

I will start with a little bit about myself. I am 23 years old, currently attending college in Winnipeg Manitoba. Many people that will be submitting have been studying magic for a long time. The bug didn’t bite me until just over a year ago. Believe me when I say the bug has taken a big chunk out of me. Since then I have started performing for children and every cent that I have made from it has gone back into the craft and then some. Of course the girlfriend doesn’t like that part but hopefully she understands (haha). Also I am a big fan of the Magic Broadcast, I wear my t-shirts with pride and listen to it as much as I can.

If I was to win this effect I would definitely be using it in a family show that I am developing and also on the street as I plan to be busking this upcoming summer. After spending most of my time focussing on children it can be difficult to find something that can play to an audience with 3 year olds to 103 year olds (although they may both like the colouring book). I believe that this version of bill in lemon would definitely fit that criteria. The game show theme would be a wholesome family experience and this is what I truly want to have in each of my performances.

Thanks For The Consideration,

Ryan Price

Why I should win Cody Fisher's "Bet Your Bucks!"

Well gang,
I thought all week about a cute, funny answer to this.
But the truth is, like Ken pointed out, that I am greedy, too poor to afford to purchase this great trick outright, but definitely would exchange this presentation of the Bill in Lemon for the one I currently do.

So, for the above reasons, please pick me!

Sincerely,
Keith

Here goes!

I'm 25 years old, in Vancouver, BC. I've been performing now for the past 5 years but am finally making my way onto the stage after doing years of close-up. As part of the transition, I have been working on a BIL routine that involves a gameshow theme. I love the BIL plot, I look like a gameshow host, and could really use the gimmick to make my routine that much more deceptive. That and if I don't win, I'll probably end up buying it anyway! So pick me PLEASE! emoticon

PS: Mike, I can't seem to hear the stream on my computer! If you DO choose me, please let me know emoticon

I take it back...its streaming again!
