Salt Pour Platform

Hi Peter!

Is it possible to stand on the platform and perform the salt pour, or is this only used to pour the salt upon?

Great idea!

Hi Lee, Yes you can stand on the platform as you pour the salt. I might have to start doing that myself, thats a good idea!

Re: Salt Pour Platform

Actually Peter,
when I read the ad at Hocus Pocus I didn't imagine using the platform any other way, but then I saw the video and obviously there you just use the platform to pour the salt on, whilst staying on the stage.

It might be a nice idea to go to stand on the platform, but then have an assistant mime to prevent you standing on the platform, and lay the mat down for you on top of the platform before starting the salt pour.

That way you have an excuse for both the platform and the mat. The platform may become otherwise superfluous as you could just as easily stand on the stage and lay a mat down, without using the platform.

Just a couple of thoughts!

Re: Salt Pour Platform

Great ideas Lee!

In my vision I wanted to use the platform as a focal point for the salt for the audience, a place for them to really SEE the salt, while adding all the little extras and easy clean up. It also creates levels in the act (like the end where I stand ontop to create a higher level for and set up the finale, which I find nice and kind of spice it up for those of us who are not salt pour masters like Mr. Kozak.
What I love about creating props the most is guys like you who have a different vision on how to use a prop! Thats the beauty of our art, the creativity of others!

Thanks for taking the time to comment on the prop Lee!

P.
